2019 came and went, but it was one of the most intense, hobby-filled years of my life. First of all - I got married! It was, to this very day, the happiest moment of my life. What can I say? Being married rocks! Here;s to my wife, Lia - I love you baby, more than anything else on this world. Hobby-wise, 2019 was intense as hell. I've continued to explore Delta Green, the modern, para-military system, centred around the dreaded Lovecraftian Mythos. I can safely say that this is one of my favorite RPGs of all time, and that in 2020 I intend to play it a lot. A few months back I've started to regularly (once a month, usually) enjoy it via Roll20, with a couple of very nice people from Sweden. Johanna, Jim and Martin - here's to you. Fhtagn! A small upadte from me, as I'm getting ready for my flight to Armenia. In a few days from now I'll be starting a new chapter of my life. In less than a week I'm getting married. Not gonna lie, I am stressed a bit, but also insanely happy. This will be a whole new experience, and I'm very, very glad to share it with the woman of my life. Life's good sometimes! Given the importance of this event I wanted to also take stock of my hobby endeavors, and to thank a couple of people, without whom I would not be where I am today. As I'm waiting for a certain interview to be finally finalized, I've decided to make a quick sit rep of what is currently going on with my RPG-related activities. There's is quite going on! A lot, in fact. My IRL weekly Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay group is going strong, as we plow through the classic tale of "The Enemy Within". This is our last foray into the 2nd edition of WFRP, as the 4th is just so much better in almost every way possible (great job Cubicle 7!). Still, the wacky humor, the shenanigans, the sense of mild paranoia and secrecy - these are the hallmarks of our playstyle, and they truly make for some excellent experience. The gang is currently visiting Bogenhafen during the infamous Shaffenfest, and they've already left one of their own to tender mercies of the local Sigmarite clergy. Good times... After all, they're known for the compassion and forgiving nature... My biweekly Roll20 WFRP group from the States is having a hard time...

This post was supposed to be about the movie "Black Death", starring Sean Bean, but I've decided to go for a slightly more optimistic tone this time. Especially since last time it was a trip to depression city with my previous post. Delta Green... oh man, where do I begin? Ha! I know! It's the best RPG that I've played in the last 5 years. Yeah, I've just said it. I've tested a bunch of new systems over the course of a lot couple of years, including the Aegis Project and the Apocalypse World, but none have made such a strong impression on me, as Delta Green. This art really tells you everything about the game. I love it! To those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, here's the general gist. Delta Green is a game about the Lovecraftian Mythos, but instead of playing a terrified investigator, who normally works as a bookstore manager, you're playing a goverment agent, a specialist of some kind, or a badass ex-special force...

Another year, another mark. 2018 was very a hobby-heavy period for me, but I'm not complaining. In fact I can't wait for the 2019, as it promises a lot more action for me! First of all - I'm getting married next year. That fact alone is making me smile like a madman and I can't stress enough how happy I am about that fact. My fiancee is a wonderful human being and I'm extremely lucky to have a second half like her. This will be a completely new chapter in my life, one that I'm very keen to explore. As for the 2018 and my hobby related stuff... it was a blast. I've finished GM'ing "The Thousand Thrones" in one group (the first of my IRL groups) and "Terror in Talabheim" in the other (Roll20), together with a bunch of one-shot scenarios. Both campaigns are for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 2nd edition, and both of them are long-time favorites of mine. I've also ran a demi-campaign set in Khuresh, in the far east of the Warhammer...

Those pesky Beastmen, they're so adorable, aren't they? Funny goat-men who sometimes try to ruin the adventurer's day by jumping out of the forest, screaming "oogah boogah boogah!" At least that is how they're usually portrayed: as a bunch of inbred dumbasses, who are only threatening to level 1 characters, and only on a very bad day. It doesn't matter if we are talking about official or fan-made publications - the Beastmen always get the shaft. What if I'd told you that it is possible to make them a formidable, scary and unique threat to your players? Is it even possible? Yes, yes it is. For that we'll have to reach out to our boy, H.P. Lovecraft himself and steal a bit of his ideas and, more importantly, the atmosphere of primeval horror, which he was able to include in his works with unparalleled skill. You see, the Beastmen are not men with hooves. They're not men with animal heads, wearing shit-stained loincloths and brandis...
